  9. You should carefully read the following terms and conditions before
  10. using this software.

  12. Shareware Version

  14. You are hereby licensed to:  use the Shareware Version of the software
  15. for a 21 day evaluation period; make as many copies of the Shareware
  16. version of this software and documentation as you wish; give exact
  17. copies of the original Shareware version to anyone; and distribute the
  18. Shareware version of the software and documentation in its unmodified
  19. form via electronic means.  There is no charge for any of the above.

  21. You are specifically prohibited from charging, or requesting donations,
  22. for any such copies, however made; and from distributing the software
  23. and/or documentation with other products (commercial or otherwise)
  24. without prior written permission, with one exception:  Disk Vendors
  25. approved by the Association of Shareware Professionals are permitted to
  26. redistribute WinZip, subject to the conditions in this license, without
  27. specific written permission.

  29. Unregistered use of WinZip after the 21-day evaluation period is in
  30. violation of federal copyright laws.

  32. Evaluation and Registration

  34. This is not free software.  This license allows you to use this software
  35. for evaluation purposes without charge for a period of 21 days.  If you
  36. use this software after the 21 day evaluation period a registration fee
  37. of $29 is required.  Payments must be in US dollars drawn on a US bank,
  38. and should be sent to Nico Mak, P.O.  Box 919, Bristol, CT 06011- 0919.
  39. Credit card ordering and quantity discounts are available, as described
  40. in the section Ordering Information/Order Form.  When payment is
  41. received you will be sent a registered copy of the latest version of
  42. WinZip.

  44. One registered copy of WinZip may either be used by a single person who
  45. uses the software personally on one or more computers, or installed on a
  46. single workstation used nonsimultaneously by multiple people, but not
  47. both.

  49. You may access the registered version of WinZip through a network,
  50. provided that you have obtained individual licenses for the software
  51. covering all workstations that will access the software through the
  52. network.

  54. Governing Law

  56. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of
  57. Connecticut.
  58.  
  59. Disclaimer of Warranty

  61. THIS SOFTWARE AND THE ACCOMPANYING FILES ARE SOLD "AS IS" AND WITHOUT
  62. WARRANTIES AS TO PERFORMANCE OF MERCHANTABILITY OR ANY OTHER WARRANTIES
  63. WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  In particular, there is no warranty for
  64. the optional virus scanning feature (WinZip does not scan for viruses,
  65. it simply runs external programs that claim to perform this function).
  66. Because of the various hardware and software environments into which
  67. WinZip may be put, NO WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS
  68. OFFERED.

  70. Good data processing procedure dictates that any program be thoroughly
  71. tested with non-critical data before relying on it.  The user must
  72. assume the entire risk of using the program.  ANY LIABILITY OF THE
  73. SELLER WILL BE LIMITED EXCLUSIVELY TO PRODUCT REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF
  74. PURCHASE PRICE.
